GRAN GALÀ DI APERTURA

MAFALDA MINNOZZI
Singer and composer, Mafalda Minnozzi was born in Pavia and raised in San Severino Marche, hometown of his parents.
Reveals his talent, his intonation and his natural gifts as an interpreter during the course of the first music lessons at his school that he attended and the first competitions for new voices to participate in a teenager. The great desire to sing and her talents have led it to participate in various Festival and found still very young her "band" to perform professionally in Italy: start opening the concert of other artists and from 1987 to 1995 to cope with their public, ever more numerous. It is during this period that began performing in Rome, in various places frequented by important representatives from the worlds of literature, poetry and Italian journalism who consider her cult.
She wins third place at the "Festival of Castrocaro" (1993), when she sees her first original song included in the compilation that brings together the nine finalists singers. Driven by the desire to enrich his art, he moved to Rome and studied Neapolitan song and music with Maestro Gustavo Palumbo, acting and theater with director Roberto Marafante. And on this occasion he meets and knows Saverio Marconi, famous director and producer, founder of the theater company specializing in the genre "musical" and born his passion for theater that led her to be part of two recitals, tailored to his voice and his interpretation.
In January 1996 Mafalda arrives for the first time in Brazil where she was invited to make a series of concerts at the "Paradise" in Rio de Janeiro. So begins his love affair with the great South American country. The concerts at the "Paradise" are a success of public and critical and Mafalda enter targeted programs more "audience" of Brazilian TV that are rapidly becoming a national "phenomenon".
At the end of 1996 Mafalda recorded his first solo album titled "Uma noite no Paradise," published by the Brazilian label Som Livre; the CD contains the unreleased song "Sei Tu" that became part of the soundtrack of the telenovela "Anjo de Mim" (Rede Globo) and causes the entire Brazil knows and recognizes his talent. The following year Mafalda renews contract with Som Livre and produced "Effetto Azzurro" her second CD. One of the songs on the CD ("Con te partiró") is chosen to be part of the soundtrack of a new Rede Globo's soap opera "Zaza".
For Mafalda is the final confirmation of its role as "promoters" of Italian music in Brazil. In 2001 Mafalda receives the title "Personalidade Brasileira dos 500 anos" (Brazilian Personality of 500 years) for having "... contributed significantly to growth of Brazil through his work and his personal efforts ...". In 2004 Mafalda Minnozzi began his collaboration with the program "Brasil" by Max De Tomassi aired every Sunday evening on Radio Uno RAI and ISORADIO: in his direct telephone connections from Sao Paulo, Mafalda proposes weekly to listeners live information on Brazilian cultural life. The cooperation continues today with great success. In 2007 Mafalda Minnozzi launches its fifth CD entitled "Controvento", created by the independent record label MPI, which she founded with Marco Bisconti.
Mafalda Minnozzi presents in this new album authors such as Mariella Nava, Sergio Cammariere, Ivano Fossati, Pino Daniele; the choice of tracks is related to the personal taste of the interpreter that selects those songs in which most recognizes his own way of life and see world.
In 2008 Mafalda chooses Italy, specifically the city Theatre Feronia San Severino Marche - the same stage where he made his first concert "professional" with a group of musicians from Macerata at the age of 21 years, to produce his first DVD "Mafalda Minnozzi - Live in Italy" that celebrates its first 20-year career and is being launched in Brazil in September 2009. Simultaneously debut at the Teatro SESC Pompeia in Sao Paulo's new concert entitled "Musical Ark" which accompanies the promotion of the DVD in countries where the DVD is released. Cultural integration is the key word of the show: the 'Ark' is the ideal space in which the Italian interpreter blends folklore and the rhythms of Brazil and Italy to create a unique, modern and original "world music" .

RICHARD GALLIANO
Son of the Italian-born accordion teacher Lucien Galliano, Richard Galliano started playing the instrument at the age of four. After a long and intense period of study at the age of 14 years, seeking an expansion of his ideas on the accordion, he began listening to jazz music and was impressed by the trumpeter Clifford Brown, from whom he got many ideas. Fascinated by this new world was amazed that the accordion had never taken part in this adventure. Undertook to do this by joining various groups.
His assurance, mastery of phrasing, and ability to get a vast range of tone-colours from the accordion have meant that he has broken down musical barriers with an instrument that cuts across all genres. Keen to pass on his wealth of experience, he is the author, together with his father Lucien, of an accordion method that won the SACEM prize for Best Pedagogical Work in 2009.
